FOR KIDS: Reflection Game - Snowy Day

"Reflection” - At the end of the day, it can be a great time to reflect.

If you had a good day, take a moment to appreciate the meaningful moments, the fun experiences, and everything that brought you joy.

Or maybe you had a difficult day. In that case, take time to reflect on how things unfolded. Could anything have gone differently? If so, consider what you might have done. If not, practice compassion—both for yourself and others. If the day was difficult because of someone else's actions, extend understanding where possible. And if it was simply due to chance, allow yourself to let it go.

Today we went to school and didn’t have a snow day. At first, I thought about telling Mom I was sick, but then I realized I wouldn’t be able to play in the snow because I would have to pretend to be sick. Instead, I asked her if I could skip school to play in the snow. I wanted to be honest, because telling the truth feels much better than lying. Mom said I should go to school, and it actually turned out to be a really fun day. I spent a lot of time outside—waiting for the bus and during recess. I wore warm clothes and felt comfortable in the cold. The other kids and I had a great time playing in the snow!

Next time I will remember to wear my gloves!
