STORY: DUSTPAN ATTRACTION

My adult daughter came by for the day. She was helping me take my mom to visit my dad, and afterward, she wanted to go thrift shopping. She asked me to go and I told her I wanted to because I needed more dustpans—I have more brooms than dustpans at home.

She flashed her bright smile and said, “Mom, they probably don’t have dustpans at thrift stores. And even if they do, you might not want used dustpans. Then I thought who knows what kind of sludgy, dirty stuff they’ve picked up, she definitely has a good point.

After we dropped Mom back off, we headed to the thrift store. We had two cars since one was going to the repair shop. The thrift store was on the way to the car repair shop. It was me who arrived first, and since it was drizzling, I went inside to start browsing.

Sure enough, the first thing I saw were dustpans—upside down in a bin! As I got closer, the dust pans had small brooms attached. Since it was dust pans I was looking for I did not put them in my cart, but I was pleasantly surprised to even find the broom/dustpan combination there.

I continued shopping, making my way to the kitchen supplies section, all the while keeping an eye out for my daughter so I could show her just how close I had been with my dustpan attraction! I eventually looped back to the entrance, wondering if I had missed a bin with just dustpans.

Sure enough, there it was—a bin with approximately 30 dustpans! I picked out four in different colors and placed them in my cart, feeling so excited. I could hardly focus on shopping because I wanted to show my daughter my find. But she still hadn’t arrived, so I gave up and continued browsing.

The moment I let go of the urgency to show her, I spotted her. I excitedly asked if she had seen the dustpans by the entrance, but she said she only noticed some brooms. I realized the large brooms were to the right and the dustpans were to the left—she had looked one way, and I had looked the other!

Determined, I insisted she come see the dustpans by the entrance. She is a fan of the Law of Attraction, like me—most of the time. The Law of Attraction is fun when emotions are high, but definately a challenge and learning experience when emotions are low. As we were finishing up our shopping, we turned down another aisle, and at the very end, I found even more dustpans! These were tabletop dustpans with small brooms attached.

The whole experience made me smile—when you focus on something, it truly starts showing up everywhere! When I am out of practice, it begins with small stuff that are hard not to notice. Because I am playing these 5 games from "Words of Wonder" it is definitely helping me attract the wanted things in my life. It is very noticeable, Once again, I wish I practiced these games earlier in life. Actual practice of the law of attraction, not just noticing it, is very powerful and I know that, but definitely procrastinated for a long time. Thanks to this book, "Words of Wonder", I am practicing all the time! My daughter and I also made a vision board for 2025 and a Bingo goal card for 2025.
